The word worry

worry
Hey  guys,
Hope you are all well. It may a bit late but welcome to the month of August (I  can’t believe we are in the eighth month already WOW! Only four more months till were saying goodbye to 2014!) I pray this month will be one filled with joy and all that your heart desires will be fulfilled.
I believe that it is in the human nature to worry, the idea of the unknown or uncertainty can lead to it. The problem with it for me personally is that it almost feels like I’m carrying a heavy load in my mind throughout the day. Throughout my daily duties, there is usually a constant reminder of the worry and this affects the type of day I am likely to have (good, bad, productive or unproductive).
Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up. Proverbs 12:25
I know that God does not desire for my life or anyone else’s to be like that.  Jesus says in Mathew 6 verse 25
So my counsel is: Don’t worry about thingsfood, drink, and clothes. For you already have life and a body—and they are far more important than what to eat and wear. TLB
One thing to note is that God knows that it is in our nature to worry, that is why he gives us the reassurance that all is well there is not need to worry. I’ll also like to point out if you worry  it doesn’t make you a lesser Christian, to worry as a Christian is not to say you’ve given up but your faith is little; “O you of little faith?” Matthew 6 verse 30 ends. This is likely the reason why you worried over the situation as a Christian,  Jesus says that all we need is faith as small a mustard seed to do what may seem impossible.
He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20 NIV
However living a life worry free is so much better! One thing I have noticed is that worrying wastes time and stops us from living the abundant life God has called us to live. Jesus said that worrying does not add one moment to our so I’ve decided it so not worth my time and neither yours.
Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Matthew 6:27
So I guess it’s one thing to say, “Don’t worry my brother, “Don’t worry my sister”. The next question is likely to be “So what do I do as to not  to worry?” Disclaimer: I do not have all the answers I’m just going say a few things that have worked for me that you may find useful.😄  There are several things that lead to worrying and I guess different levels of worries. I’m just going to generalise here and come up with different scenarios.
  • I’m a student and for most students, there’s this wonderful word called ‘Deadline’ and there’s also this word ‘Procrastination’. If the second purple word does not take place in your life then your level of stress and worry will be significantly reduced.  Ok on a serious note I believe there are some practical steps that we can take to remove worry for our lives, like planning ahead of time.
  • There are also some things that are of substance that worrying about it may seem acceptable, in cases like this and even smaller ones, Prayer and his word is the key! 🔑 What makes the bible so cool, awesome and absolutely amazing is that whatever you’re going through there a word for you and there is always Google to look up bible verses if you’re unsure. Just imagine  (no need to imagine as he’s already done it hypothetically speaking) God having an Opera Winfrey moment instead of saying,”you get a car, you get a car”*. He says, “You get a word, you get a word, everybody gets a word! ” *word: word of God written in the Bible.  *https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8CAscBCdaQg
  • If we all make the personal decision to live our lives according to the will of God and allow him to be the centre of our lives everything else that may cause us to worry will not be an issue. Because Jesus made this promise to us that all our needs will be provided for us along as we seek him first.

So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ 32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. 33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

34 “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

 Matthew 6:32-34
I would love to share with you a personal testimony that has made me an ex-worrier (I say this speaking it into existence in name of Jesus) I’m not perfect but I constantly pray to God to remove the worrying from my life and also all of you reading this in Jesus name. This post will be too long so I will be sharing one of my testimonies in a later post.
Here’s a few song to encourage you all especially those going through it. I believe there will be a turn around in your lives, help is on the way God always finishes what he starts.
Have a blessed week 💜

  1. In my downtown I was reading the bible about worrying and how we are literally hurting ourselves. To live a life of being free from worrying

    • Thanks for reading and commenting, I really appreciate it. God really wants us to live a life worry free and we keep hurting and depriving ourselves by worrying. I pray he helps us all get to the point where we can proclaim to be ex-worriers.
